SUMMARY:Choosing a primary school for your child? Explore ISA at its Primary Years Open House this November
DESCRIPTION:Choosing the right primary school for your child can often feel like a major gamble\, especially in a new country. Thankfully\, this open house at the International School of Amsterdam could make the decision a whole lot easier. 👇 \nGot a little one between the ages of two and 10? On Thursday\, November 12\, you can spend the morning at the International School of Amsterdam (ISA) and get a feel for its Primary Years Programme at their open house from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM. \nA morning of (officially approved!) classroom snooping\nThe morning kicks off with an introduction to the school from the Primary School Leadership team. From there\, you’ll get a proper look at how ISA approaches learning for younger children. \nFrom Pre-School to Grade 5\, students follow the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). It’s what the school calls “transdisciplinary”\, which means lessons aren’t boxed into separate subjects. Instead\, the focus is on connecting ideas across subjects and learning about the world more broadly. \n \nHere’s what’s planned: \n👋 Meet the leadership team: An introduction to ISA and the PYP from the Primary School Leadership team\n📚 Get to know the PYP: Learn how the programme works from Pre-School to Grade 5\n🏫 Tour the campus: See the purpose-built learning spaces and meet the Primary Years teachers\n🤝 Connect with the community: Find out how the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) brings families and staff together\n⚽ After-school life: Discover the After School Care\, Vacation Care\, and a plethora of after-school activities on offer \nYou’ll also get to meet some of ISA’s students and ask questions about the curriculum\, community\, and admissions process. \nPrima! Give me all the details\nIf you’re keen as a bean to see what a school day could look like for your little one\, here’s everything you need to know: \n🗓️ When: Thursday\, November 12\n⏰ Time: 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM\n📍 Where: International School of Amsterdam\, Sportlaan 45\, 1185 TB Amstelveen\n✅ Sign-up: RSVP by October 31 via the ISA open house registration form \nCould this be the school where your child swaps their first crayons for their first passion project? Book your spot at the open house and let us know how it went.

DESCRIPTION:If listening to some of the world’s most beautiful piano music in one of the world’s best concert halls sounds like your jam\, you don’t want to miss the November version of Piano Nights. \nOn Thursday\, November 19\, The Concertgebouw’s Main Hall comes alive as pianists Helena Basilova and Hannes Minnaar take the stage for 90 minutes of neoclassical magic. \nAnd for classical music fans\, The Concertgebouw needs no introduction. At the latest Piano Nights\, you’ll enjoy an enchanting programme featuring works ranging from Ravel to Sakamoto. \nWhat’s on the programme?\nLike the previous editions\, this concert expertly blends different music styles\, with each pianist presenting their own repertoire\, both together and separately. \nHelena Basilova has a soft spot for the music of famous Japanese (film) composer Ryuichi Sakamoto\, and she’ll perform several of his pieces that evening. \nShe’ll be joined by Hannes Minnaar\, a Concertgebouw regular\, known for tackling some of the most virtuosic and famous piano concertos. \nIf you’re curious what to expect\, take a listen to the official Piano Nights Spotify playlist below: \n \nFancy a drink after the show? Good news — it’s on the house\, and you’re welcome to stick around afterwards for a chat with fellow concert-goers. \nHowever\, let op: there will be strobe lights during the concert\, so do take that into account if you’re sensitive to flashing lights. \nWhen and where?\nIf you’re hoping to secure the best seats before they’re fully booked\, here’s everything to know about the event at a glance: \n🗓️ When: Wednesday\, November 19\n⏰ Time: 8:15 PM to 9:45 PM (no interval)\n📍 Where: The Concertgebouw\, Main Hall\, Amsterdam\n🎫 Tickets: €19 to €59\, plus a €5 booking fee; tickets available on The Concertgebouw website \nKeen to experience the show yourself?
