International student in Emmen stabbed to death by their housemate

An international student studying at NHL Stenden University in Emmen has been stabbed to death. Their fellow housemate, also an international student, has been arrested.

This occurred yesterday, in a block of apartments where other international students lived and she was found with serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Other residents have said that she was a German student and had only lived in the apartment for one day, but so far the police have not officially confirmed this.

Arrested due for questioning

The man arrested, an Italian student, has not yet been officially questioned in connection with her murder as he initially refused legal aid. He is due to be questioned soon.

Understandably, the university and its students are shocked by the events that unfolded yesterday. This is both a terrifying and sad story.
