Google Brain has come to Amsterdam… and they’re hiring!

Google brain has now expanded to Amsterdam! Based in Califonia and with teams across the globe, the team have finally expanded to our part of the world, in Amsterdam. This can only mean good things for the Netherlands and innovation and of course attracting some great talent to the country.

It’s also a compliment to the Netherlands – Google only usually do this if they feel that the talent, infrastructure, education and business mindset is all keyed up, so it’s a pretty good achievement to have a team set up there!

What is Google brain?

Google brain is a research team who help incorporate artificial intelligence in our daily lives, through research, computing and system engineering. Basically, they’re the brains of the world, who are part and parcel of some of the great things we have today.

And now it’s moved to Amsterdam, they are looking to hire! So if you think you have what it takes, then here is your chance. The small team will be housed where the existing Google is in Amsterdam, so they will work alongside the general Google team.

Artifical intelligence:  big in the Netherlands

The interest around artificial intelligence in the Netherlands is growing so rapidly, that universities offering intelligence degrees can’t actually cope with it. For some, the number of applications has doubled, along with similar degrees, such as data science. As a result, it’s making it even harder to get into. While this may seem good, it’s actually bad to be limiting the numbers. People are worried that the gap between Europe and China and the USA is widening because they offer lots of great programs.

In the Netherlands 5 different universities offer these courses, and they will have tightly fixed numbers. However, if the Netherlands doesn’t have the resources, they won’t be able to do it.

Hopefully, the Netherlands will grow to accommodate these changes… Google brain in Amsterdam is a good start!

Now the gif can be used for its actual purpose! 😉
