It has been more than a year since the world has heard anything newsworthy from Joran van der Sloot. Joran is known worldwide (which is an accomplishment by itself for a Dutch guy who isn’t a footballplayer or DJ) for the disappearance of Natalie Holloway and the murder of Stephany Flores. Joran’s fame in the Netherlands reached extrememe-ing (coined!) proportions when he was caught on camera smoking pot and telling all about Natalie’s disappearance a few years back.

He’s currently a guest of a correctional facility in Peru, doing 28 years for the murder of Stephany Flores. In the letter he states he is sorry for the death of Stephany and pleas for a lower sentence, his appeal against his sentence is currently processed.

The excuse-letter. Keeping it nicely on one page.

Abuzer founded DutchReview a decade ago because he thought expats needed it and wanted to make amends for the Dutch cuisine. He has a Masters in Political Science and IT but somewhere always wanted to study history or good old football. He also a mortgage in the Netherlands and will happily tell you too how to get one. Born and raised in Rotterdam, Abuzer now lives in Leiden but is always longing back to his own international year in Italy.
