NS Announces Construction on Train Lines from 23rd to 26th February

NS announces construction on train lines from the 23rd to the 26th of February. To make life easier it’s best to be aware of when and where the construction will be happening. NS officials and personnel distributed cards with the information on next week’s construction to passengers across different stations today.

Being Australian I’m used to trains being pushed back by an hour due to “grass fires”… Seriously. Good thing it’s not a grass fire, just some routine construction, picture a bunch of dudes with hammers and crow-bars.

The NS Construction Notification Distributed Today

When will construction take place?

From Saturday, 23rd February until Tuesday, 26th February construction will make the train from Rotterdam Central to The Hague Central unavailable. The NS informational cards read, “the track will be renewed for you”. (Aw, that’s kind of sweet, just for me?)

As the Notorious B.I.G once said, “if ya don’t know, now ya know”.

It’s best to plan ahead, change your plans if need be (if you can’t stand busses) or ask your friends in Rotterdam to come to you (presuming you’re in The Hague). Everyone has that one friend that says things like “Nah come around here, it’s… better” just because they don’t want to leave the house. Don’t be one of those people, in this situation just call up whoever and plan ahead.

NS Train lines affected by the construction

While the train lines undergo repairs and further construction, they will be unavailable to travel on. the Train lines that will undergo construction are the Den Hague to Rotterdam line. NS has modified their timetable and made replacement buses available so that we’re not completely out of luck over the weekend.

The replacement buses will run for 15 to 30 minutes longer than the train schedule. This is to compensate for the number of trips a bus would have to make to make up for greater numbers of passengers.
