Former U.S. president Barack Obama will be visiting the Netherlands once again. His stay is scheduled for September in order to attend a leadership seminar. Here is everything you need to know about the Obama visit to the Netherlands
Obama will be visiting the Netherlands for a seminar
Barack Obama is scheduled to visit the Netherlands on the 28th of September for a seminar regarding leadership. The event is organized by DenkProducties and AFAS Software, however the location has not yet been confirmed. During the seminar, Obama will “share his insights on leadership in a rapidly changing world”. He will also be accepting and answering questions from the attendants. It has further been revealed that he will be the closing speaker (talk about leaving the best for last). This will be the first time since his presidency that Obama will visit the Netherlands.
Obama’s past visits to the Netherlands
This is not the first time that Obama is visiting the Netherlands. In the past, Obama came to Holland for the Nuclear Summit in March of 2014. He also held a press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rutte at the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. During that conference the two leaders showcased the strong relationship between America and the Netherlands, all while stood in front of the colossal Nightwatch painting of Rembrandt.
The recent meeting between the U.S. and the Netherlands
Now it’s time to snap back to reality, and face the truth! The current president of the United States of America is no other than Donald Trump. In fact, Rutte had a meeting with him recently and he was nowhere near as smiley as he was with Obama. And let’s not forget that legendary ‘No!’. In case you’ve been living under a rock, and have no idea what we’re talking about, here is more of what happened during that epic meeting.
Let’s just be happy that Trump is not visiting the Netherlands at this point. On the other hand, grab some popcorn because he will be visiting the UK very soon!
