Brexit has meant that the BBC is considering opening an office in Amsterdam

The BBC risks losing its EU broadcasting license after Brexit, prompting them to consider opening an office in either Amsterdam or Brussels.

The Times has reported that the BBC are planning on possibly opening an office in either Amsterdam or Brussels, due to Brexit. It will make it much easier to ensure that programmes can be cast within the European Union. This is because the BBC could lose its license to broadcast to the EU. Yup, you can’t make this stuff up (and no it’s not the 1st April today).

TV broadcasters from the UK are currently allowed to broadcast across the EU, but this is unlikely to happen after the 29th March, so it makes complete sense to open up an office in one of these two capital cities. This office will only be small though, with under 10 employees and the decision will not be made until just after the 29th March.

I imagine it will probably be Amsterdam, moving to Brussels seems kinda awkward. 😉

Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
