A teacher has been sprung watching porn in the middle of teaching a class. He was unaware of the fact that his device was connected to a beamer, the entire class could see the explicit content.Â
Some people are totally oblivious. No wonder management called it “an extremely annoying incident” when The Staring College in Lochem teacher had a mix-up with an AV system and his computer was diverted to a beamer that beamed a whole lot of porn at students.

Beamed: The teacher was suspended
The school board wrote in a letter to parents that students had taken a video of the incident that is out there being watched by staff and students.
Of course, this kind of offense is something that flies in the face of any educational institution. Significant consequences had to be taken and the teacher in question was swiftly suspended.
The school’s statement
The school released a few words about what had happened and made clear their views on porn being kept out of classrooms.
“You will understand that we take this event very seriously and find it unacceptable, and this is absolutely not at home in our school with a safe learning environment”.
Rightly so, not the most respectable thing your teacher can be found looking at, not really of the same cloth as Jack Kerouac or George Orwell. I mean damn, you’re at a school, not only that you’re teaching shouldn’t you be looking at some Pythagoras theorem or Physics books or something. The thing about teaching is, you’re always teaching, kids are very impressionable and look to teachers a lot for guidance and a frame of reference, even subconsciously, for how adult life is supposed to look like.
After such a strange (porn tainted) situation the cause and effects of the incident are still being processed by the school and its community.
Law of averages implies that likely many teachers are looking a porn while at school. I agree students are sub-consciously learning from teachers how to be adults, but the reality is that the teacher is just an average person. I think it isn’t such a bad thing this the teacher was watching porn (so long as it was on his own time). The students most definitely are watching it in their spare time — luckily their phones are not connected to the projectors.
