On Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, 2025, Wereldmuseum Leiden will once again bring the spirit of New Zealand to the Netherlands with its annual celebration of Matariki, the Māori New Year.
This year’s special edition also marks the 15th anniversary of the arrival of two traditional Māori waka (canoes) in the Netherlands, celebrating the partnership between the museum, Toi Māori Aotearoa, and The Dutch Waka Crew.
To celebrate, Wereldmuseum Leiden is preparing heaps of exciting activities.
