Are you our next Social Media & Video Intern?

Do you dream of ruling the Dutch-English online scene? Are you full of creative ideas and a healthy dose of a get-it-done attitude? DutchReview is on the lookout for a Social Media & Video Intern that will knock our social content out of the park.

🚨 Applications close August 9

First off, here are the details:

What?

As a social media and video intern, you'll create content that will be seen by thousands: from reviewing the latest hotspots in the Netherlands, to creating roundups of current Dutch affairs. You'll also have the opportunity to shape DutchReview's social media strategy.

When?

We're aiming for a start date in the beginning of September. Each internship period is six months and begins with full training to get you up to speed with our current strategy and systems.
You'll work four days a week, with at least two days in our Leiden HQ.

Where?

You'll come to our physical office in Leiden at the innovative hotspot PLNT up to two days per week, and work from home the rest of the time. We can only consider candidates who live within a reasonable travel distance from Leiden.

I loved being a DutchReview intern. I got to write stories that interested me, learnt so much about SEO, and practiced running successful social media campaigns. I went on video shoots, reviewed amazing places, and got to pitch ideas to help DutchReview succeed. It gave my resume a huge boost, and I had a great time doing it!

FYI: we're only looking for the best

Is that you? Let's see!
  • You speak English at a native level, and it is absolutely and impeccably flawless
  • You are fluent in social media and familiar with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • You are creative and full of ideas, and know how to turn concepts and campaign objectives into content that captures audiences
  • You know an absurd amount about the Dutch, what makes them tick, and the life of expats in the Netherlands
  • You can work independently and deal with daily deadlines
  • You have your own, reasonable-quality laptop and smartphone to work with
  • You live within commuting distance to our HQ in the stunning university town of Leiden
  • Extra points if you have experience with video editing software such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere

Flexible hours

Appointments, deliveries, life happens — we get it! While there are some hard hours, enjoy remote work and the ability to shuffle your time to suit you.

Team events

We're a small team that plays hard and works sometimes. We love a borrel in the sunshine, a karaoke at night, and a lekker dinner here and there.

A four-day work week

Working five days a week is so 2010. You work better when you enjoy life, so put your feet up and relax with a day off every week.

Interning at DutchReview taught me so many things about digital media and the inner workings of journalism. I became very familiar with writing daily news, selecting accurate news sources, and working with social media platform tools. I also got the opportunity to visit and review several attractions, which I otherwise would’ve never seen! To top off my experience at DutchReview, my colleagues provided me with many laughs, support, and, of course, large amounts of coffee!

Do I get paid?

Natuurlijk!
You'll receive €575/month and we'll cover travel costs to and from the office.
There are also free events, access to prime hotspots, and (occasionally) free cheese to review!
