Enjoy an evening of classical masterpieces and lively jazz at BSA Live’s debut concert
Fancy a night of live music in one of Amsterdam’s most unusual venues? BSA Live is launching their brand-new concert series, with an intimate evening of classical masterpieces and vibrant jazz manouche.
Their inaugural concert on September 12 brings together professional musicians from the British School of Amsterdam’s community, including teachers from the Young Musicians at BSA programme.
The result is an evening you won’t want to miss, all inside a beautifully converted 19th-century prison that once held Dutch resistance fighters during the Second World War.
What’s on the agenda?
The night is split into two halves, welcoming you with some classical pieces before shifting towards gypsy jazz after the intermission.
The classical set includes:
🪈 Claude Debussy’s Syrinx for solo flute
🎻 Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano
🎹 Jasna Veličković’s ODSJAJ for solo piano
🎶 Carl Maria von Weber’s Flute Trio in G minor, Op. 63 I. Allegro molto
🎼 Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion for flute, cello and piano, arr. José Bragato

After the interval, the Gypsy Jazz Quartet takes over, bringing in a guitar, contrabass, and vocals for a lively change of pace.
