Ready to fly with the Eastern winds this Museum Night? Here’s what Wereldmuseum Leiden has in store

For this year’s Museumnacht, Wereldmuseum Leiden takes you on an unforgettable journey with the ‘Eastern Winds’ from South Korea, Samoa, and West Papua.
Museum Night in Leiden is undeniably one of the best nights of the year. For one fantastic evening, a multitude of museums, venues, and cultural hotspots stay open until 1 AM, offering music, dancing, performances, and art.
What’s on the menu at Wereldmuseum Leiden this year? Papuan music and dance, deep and revealing discussions about culture and Western versus Eastern traditions, sparkling K-pop performances, and much, much more.
What do the Eastern winds bring?
In a beautiful display of art, conversation, dance, and music, you can immerse yourself in a cultural wave from the Pacific Ocean.
Here’s what’s planned so far:
🎶 Bird of Paradise and Disco Angel: Papuan artist Robinson Jouwe opens with a colourful, riveting musical exploration of hope, love, queerness, and belonging
🎸 Numori, meaning “new rhythm”, showcase their unique blend of K-pop, K-rock, Samulnori (Korean percussion), and Pansori (Korean narrative art) in a spectacular performance of their electro-Korean music
💡 Guided tours and workshops led by special guests
🇰🇷 Koren bites with a modern twist and Korean soju cocktails
