Prosecutor demands sentence of 28 years and TBS for the murder of Anne Faber

The Public Prosecutor is demanding 28 years in prison and ‘TBS’ (compulsory treatment) against Michael P. Who is suspected of (and admitted to) the deprivation of liberty, raping and the killing of 25-year-old Anne Faber.

“The suspect cannot return to society without treatment,” says the prosecutor. “The suspect is guilty of downright disgusting facts.”

Qualified manslaughter – not murder

The Public Prosecutor says he cannot prove for a fact that P. planned to kill Anne Faber in advance. “That means we can not prove murder,” said prosecutor Leepel.

However, ‘qualified manslaughter’ has been proven, which has the same maximum sentence as murder. P. is also suspected of the mistreatment of five employees of the Pieter Baan Center. The OM considers that proven. And he was already sentenced years ago to 16 years of prison for raping two girls, he was in treatment and on probation when Michael P. murdered Anne Faber.

Heartbreaking statement from the family

NOS reports the heartbreaking statement, that was from Anne Faber’s family. Her father said, “Honestly, I think I should have the right to punish the perpetrator myself. I have such pain in my heart. Anne is the most precious and vulnerable thing in my life, along with my son Rogier.” Her mother stated that, “We were prepared with photos, but we had to hold each other to stay upright when we saw her. What we saw is indescribable. All the beautiful words we wanted to say fell away. All we could say was: we are with you…Anne’s friends are afraid to walk alone through the forest. Even women who did not know Anne say that they have become afraid. All because of one person. It’s unimaginable what one person can do.”

P. was not in the room when the statements were made.
