Fancy an evening of romantic melodies and a free drink? Piano Nights returns to Amsterdam this November
If listening to some of the world’s most beautiful piano music in one of the world’s best concert halls sounds like your jam, you don’t want to miss the November version of Piano Nights.
On Thursday, November 19, The Concertgebouw’s Main Hall comes alive as pianists Helena Basilova and Hannes Minnaar take the stage for 90 minutes of neoclassical magic.
And for classical music fans, The Concertgebouw needs no introduction. This historic building has hosted talents such as Mahler, Strauss, and Stravinsky, and even Rachmaninoff performed his own piano concertos in the Main Hall.
But it’s not just history on the agenda this November! At the latest Piano Nights, you’ll enjoy an enchanting programme featuring works ranging from Ravel to Sakamoto.
What’s on the programme?
Like the previous editions, this concert expertly blends different music styles, with each pianist presenting their own repertoire, both together and separately.
Helena Basilova has a soft spot for the music of famous Japanese (film) composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, and she’ll perform several of his pieces that evening.
She’ll be joined by Hannes Minnaar, a Concertgebouw regular, known for tackling some of the most virtuosic and famous piano concertos.
