Use Netflix in the Netherlands? Sorry, your subscription price is going up

We hate to be the bearer of bad news...

Just like your favourite Sunday cappuccino, the price of your Dutch Netflix subscription is rising — and you didn’t even ask for oat milk.

This follows a series of price hikes for other countries such as the US, France, and the UK. And now it’s hitting the Netherlands.

Just how much more expensive?

But ok, how much sleep do you have to lose over yet another rising expense? According to RTL Nieuws, that depends on which subscription you have.

  • If you have a basic Netflix subscription that only lets you stream from one screen, then your subscription price will rise by €1 to €9.99 per month.
  • Want to be able to stream on two screens simultaneously? Then your price is rising by €2 to €15.99 per month
  • And what if your children also want to join in? Streaming from up to four screens in the same household will now set you back €20.99 per month.
  • If you also want to let your sister enjoy some screen time, then an additional user outside your household will now cost €4.99 per month.

Hey, look on the bright side, at least your TV can’t shrink like the size of the broodjes in your local supermarket.
