A body has been found in a ditch alongside a road in Italy. They have officially confirmed that this is missing Koen van Keulen. This road is a road where the bus he was on would have passed through. Following the news that a body was found this morning, his family arrived at the scene for identification.Â
17-year-old Koen van Keulen went missing
On Friday morning (around 2am), 17-year-old Koen van Keulen went missing in Lake Garda in Italy. He took a bus home after a night out in Lazise with friends and his friends got off at their stop to go back to their Eurocamping spot. For whatever reason, Koen did not get off at this stop. He was believed to be talking to people at the back of the bus and missed his stop. He got off at the next stop, a few miles away.
Nobody has heard anything from him since and his debit card has been left unused. His phone was also unreachable. Ever since people have been searching for the missing boy, including Dutch authorities and dogs.
His body was found today and they believe that he possibly climbed the crash barrier and fell into the ditch. What a terrible tragedy for this young boy and his family.
