De Wallen has a New Sex Theatre: 5D Porn Opens this Saturday

De Wallen has a new sex theatre. 5D Porn opens its doors this Saturday, the 30th of March. The opening of a 5D sex cinema in De Wallen is unprecedented. If you didn’t know what 5D porn was before reading this, you’re not alone. Sex theatre is sort of a niche market due to copious amounts of free porn online.

Customers pay an entry fee and watch the X-rated films with an audience. The experience is aptly branded as “5D Porn” because as you can imagine, it aims to please all 5 senses. The new sex theatre is located in De Wallen at Oudekerksplein 18.

The municipality of Amsterdam has prohibited large groups of tourists from entering the Red Light District as of January 1st, 2020. There’s been scrutiny of the sort of people that see sex work as a tourist attraction. That being said…

How does a sex theatre pushing back against an increasingly desensitized online culture keep their audience interested? We spoke to someone from 5D Porn to find out.

An Interview with Natalie from 5D Porn

DR. How many screens will there be in this 5D experience?

Natalie. Just one large 3D enabled screen, you’re on a motion seat that takes you further into the experience, there are air jets and wind and water sensations making this a 5D experience.

DR. Could you describe the experience a bit more?

Natalie. Have you been to an amusement park? it’s kind of like that, we are really satisfied with it. Everyone is welcome to try the experience.

DR. I read somewhere that there were smells, fragrances that were added?

Natalie. Scents or fragrances are not included, this is untrue, someone has just made this up.

DR. Who’s behind this 5D sex theatre concept, are the films made throughout the year?

Natalie. The films were made in collaboration with Kim Holland, a big name in this industry, the films are quite expensive to make and so we only make a few then we hold the screenings.

DR. On average how big is the audience of a 5D experience?

Natalie. There are 18 people in a single viewing.

DR. How many films are screened in a single viewing?

Natalie. We will play 1 movie in the experience, with 6 screenings of that film in an hour.

DR. Who is the audience, the customer in this market? I know Alderman Udo Kock has been working to make the Red Light District more strict regarding large groups of tourists in De Wallen.

Natalie. We are definitely not just going after tourists for our audience, it’s funny because in Amsterdam even the Dutch people have an interest in breaking free from the norm. Come with your wife, have a laugh, try something different.

DR. What are you hoping people get out of the 5D Porn experience?

Natalie. Lots of things happen so fast when you’re in the audience that when it’s finally all over you’re left energized. You want to get back out there, have a beer or a coffee and talk, process what just happened.

So now that we have some clarity on what 5D Porn offers, will we check it out or will we keep our fascination and distinct pleasure derived from porn behind closed doors? Either way, the doors will open this Saturday at 10 PM!
