Surely this is only the beginning of what will be an interesting relationship between the Netherlands and Pete Hoekstra (a relationship built on lies, backward world-views and fake news). You should be thankful to have an honorable man like Pete Hoekstra serving as the U.S. Ambassador. The Lying name came recently from an interview where the reporter manipulated the questions to “catch” him in saying something that sounded like a lie. Pete served as a US Representative for Western Michigan for a long time and remained a conservative and reputable person. Give him a chance and I’m sure you will agree.

The reporter did not manipulate anything. The reporter simply showed a clip of mr. Hoekstra making false claims. Then mr. Hoekstra lied about the fact that he would have used the words ‘Fake News’, which he had just been using 30 seconds before that.
So mr. Hoekstra has been caught lying and it is on tape. Also, he’s is lying about a country to which he is now being send as an ambassador.
Tell me, why should dutch citizens or journalists have any reason to give someone ‘a chance’ when that person is so blatantly caught lying about their country? Tell me, should it been seen as an insult to the Dutch to send them someone as an ambassador, who so blatantly lies about the Netherlands.
Again: there are no no-go zones in the Netherlands, and there are no politicians having been set afire. Those were the claims mr. Hoekstra made and still he has not denied them.

I am saddened and disappointed that our government chose to accept this buffoon as ambassador after the vile, hateful and false thing he has said about our country. If our prime minister had any spine he would have kicked this jackass out of the country with a big “Do not return” stamp on his forehead.

I have been to St. Denis in Paris. I stayed there a year before the massacre at the Bataclan and the shoot outs that occurred near my hotel. I was in Barcelona on the Las Ramblas this year, where a terrorist mowed people down with his car just months later. Now people are getting attacked with acid. In Koln this year they had a safe space for women for New Years Eve. Nice, Paris, Koln. Sweden, the train attack…it goes on and on and yet you are focused on trying to make him look bad, not addressing your problems. And you blame Trump for being uncivil and unintelligent, when you are in denial and at war with all who disagree with you on any issue. This isn’t mature behavior.
