Noah’s Ark in Urk is Damaged, an alpaca found in Haarlem! Coincidence?

The Netherlands have been effected by the the first Western storm of 2018 and the results were not pretty. Apart from an alarming Code Orange, it caused quite a bit of a havoc all over the country. To name one, a ship which was built according to the Biblical description of Noah’s Ark, has rammed several ships into the marina. With all happening still animals in the ship, a wave of news emerged yesterday that an alpaca was found wandering the streets of central Haarlem! Noah’s Ark and a lost Alpaca? Coincidence? Yes, and a funny one at that!

The Curious Case of the Lost Alpaca in Haarlem

On 2nd of January Tuesday night, the police found a wandering alpaca in the center of Haarlem. After an understandable initial shock (we’re guessing) the lost alpaca was taken to the riding school by of the Amsterdam police.

After spending the night under the care of the police department, the the alpaca was brought to an association of alpaca holders in Sassenheim where the animal is now cared for until the owner is found.

Understandably, the police have already been busy looking for the owner. Apart from posting the incident on their Social Media accounts,  all children’s petting zoos in the area and a circus, which has set up its tent in the area, have already been visited by agents.

The funny part? No alpacas were missing at any of the locations.

So, What came next?

It turns out if you post this kind of news online, people go crazy! Especially if you include a cute photo to go with it. After the reports, the police were flooded by people who wanted this cutie for themselves. Resulted in the police having to make an appeal on their Facebook account saying:

“We ask you not to call 0900-8844 if you are interested in the animal. We hope to be able to reunite him with his owner, he is well taken care of and there is no question of relocation. ”

For now, the mysterious owner of the alpaca is still be found! Oh and they decided to name the alpaca Teddy, so we, as Dutchreview hope you’ll make it safely back home soon Teddy!
