Winter is Here: Snow predicted for next week and there might be Ice Skating!

Weather: Frost and Snow Expected Next Week

Following the drop in temperature seen this weekend, snow is predicted for next week. The snow will follow a gust of wind and chill moving up the southwest of the Netherlands. The chill I’m speaking of is a negative temperature of -5 and -7

Yes, the ever elusive, more fairy-tale version of rain is returning.

A layer of Ice Coming on Sunday

Drivers and pedestrians will see the same ice and have to handle it with mutual respect. Drivers remember not to defrost your windshields with boiling water, it might crack. Skating on the natural ice may be hindered by the precipitation as it travels across the Netherlands on Tuesday. If the temperatures before that are low enough, it could lead to snow. The thickness of the ice could grow as high as 6 to 8 centimeters. The ice will be around 3 centimeters on Thursday, making it safe to skate.

“thank goodness the pup wasn’t hurt”

Also be aware and cautious of black ice. Just this morning the icy pavement almost took me down. Look for indicators of icy roads, if you see salt it is most likely there to dissolve the ice.

The maximum temperatures will reach is 1,2 or 3 degrees. *zips up the fifteenth jacket*
