No Trains to Utrecht for over a Week

There will be no trains to Utrecht for a week. Starting on the 20th of October, until the 29th of October, there will be no direct trains between Utrecht Central and Rotterdam, The Hague and Leiden.

No Trains to Utrecht, here are the alternative routes

There will be no direct trains going to Utrecht from Saturday October 20 until Monday morning October 29. Travelers on the routes Rotterdam Central-Utrecht Central, The Hague Central-Utrecht Central and Leiden Central-Utrecht Central can travel via Schiphol Airport. Travelers who need to go to Woerden will have to take a bus. Depending on the route, the estimated extra travel time varies from 15 minutes to 45 minutes.

In order to ensure that you get to your destination on time, we recommend you plan your commute ahead of time. You can do so by checking the train schedule on the NS website.

Why there will be no trains to Utrecht

The train traffic to Utrecht has been disrupted for a week due to work on the track. During that period ProRail will work day and night on the track doubling between Utrecht Central and Utrecht Leidsche Rijn. The doubling of the track is a big project and should ensure fewer delays and shorter travel times.

An important component for this reconstruction was the construction of the new  railway bridge over the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. In November 2017, the railway bridge was inserted between the two existing bridges.
