Dutchie Glennis Grace is through to the final of America’s Got Talent

Glennis Grace is through to the final of America’s Got Talent. The 40-year-old Grace has been a well-known singer in the Netherlands for years. She grew up in the Amsterdam Jordaan and won the Soundmix show as a 15-year-old. In 2005 she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.

How Glennis Grace made the finals

Grace reached the final thanks to the so-called ‘Dunkin Save’; the last straw for candidates who initially did not get enough votes to reach the final. “America has definitely made a good choice,” said jury member Simon Cowell after the announcement. “You really deserve a place in the final, I am very happy for you!” The singer was grateful to viewers immediately after reaching the finals who voted for her again at the last moment. “I am so happy to go to the finals, that was my goal, which means everything to me”, she said via the program’s Twitter account.

For her participation in the American talent hunt she tried several times to break through abroad. It is still unclear which song Grace will sing in the final. The final is on the night of Tuesday 18 September (Dutch time). In it, the Dutch singer competes against nine others for a million dollars, a record deal and a gig in Las Vegas. Her competition consists of three other singers, two stand-up comedians, a trapeze duo, electric violinist, illusionist, an acrobat group and thousand of penguins.

(okay, might not be true)

Abuzer founded DutchReview a decade ago because he thought expats needed it and wanted to make amends for the Dutch cuisine. He has a Masters in Political Science and IT but somewhere always wanted to study history or good old football. He also a mortgage in the Netherlands and will happily tell you too how to get one. Born and raised in Rotterdam, Abuzer now lives in Leiden but is always longing back to his own international year in Italy.
