British reporter quizzes Rutte on the Irish backstop and Brexit (Vid inside!)

Rutte and Brexit

Mark Rutte got caught up in the whole Brexit backstop debate with a British reporter and the reporter got shot down. The reporter was quizzing Rutte about if any concessions with the Irish backstop will be granted. Rutte replies with ‘the backstop is not our idea…what would then happen when the backstop is gone? A hard border.’

Here you can see the full interview:

The interview has been met with praise for Rutte, who was quick to indirectly demonstrate how crazy British politics has become.

The UK only has 2 months to the day to come up with some kind of deal, or a no-deal Brexit will occur, and nobody wants that. Theresa May’s deal was recently voted down by the British parliament and so there’s not much to work with. The fiasco continues!
