Four children killed after a terrible collision between a train and cargo bike

Terrible news from Oss: in a collision between an electric cargo bike and a train, four children were killed. Another child and an adult were also seriously injured, reports the police.

What happened in Oss?

The accident happened shortly after half-past eight at a guarded railway crossing on the Braakstraat, near Oss West station. What made it all go so terribly wrong is not yet clear. In the electric tricycle, a so-called ‘Stint’, children of a children daycare were sitting, eyewitnesses and employees of other day-care centers told the NIS.

Trains interrupted

On the railway in Oss, there are slow trains and intercity trains from Nijmegen to Den Bosch. There is a cycle path next to the road. The train traffic is quiet until 11:30.
