WTF! The former PVV MP and right-hand man of Wilders, Joram van Klaveren, has converted to Islam

The former PVV MP Joram van Klaveren has converted to Islam. Confused? We are too…

This stunning revelation was made clear in an interview with NRC Handelsblad, where he said he had changed his mind. He was starting an anti-Islam book and researching Islam, when his opinion changed on it.

Joram van Klaveren was against Islam

Van Klaveren was brought up as a Protestant, he was a PVV member for 7 years and also tried to get a new right-wing populist party ‘VoorNederland’ into the spotlight, which ended up failing. He was critical of Islam for many years and he began writing a book against Islam. He was the one who started the ‘Morrocan’ debate, linking Dutch-Morrocan boys with crime and he was the guy who made it clear that Islam, to him, was an issue.

So yeah, it’s with complete surprise that all of a sudden he wants to be a part of the religion. He sees this point as ‘a journey’, with friends and family indifferent to the decision mainly because it’s such a turnaround.

He’s got a heck of a lot to apologise for now and the irony is too much. In short: WTF.

Can’t resist another confused Britney gif…

Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

  1. First of all, i want to tell all the people of the world, especially those against islam, please read the Quran cover to cover just once and stop listening to the media. Islam is a religion of peace and love. The media is spreading the wrong info about islam. There are black sheeps in every community so dont be mislead by the lies of the media and read Quran and read about the saying of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and read about his life to know the truth. Allah o Akbar

  2. To understand Islam, read the Quran and the authentic Hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad PBUH).

May the truth set you free.

  3. Dear readers,
Adding to what Yusaf said, I would like to urge those interested in the subject not only to read the Qur’an with their own eyes, but to try and be as careful as possible with what is called unanimous interpretation of the Qur’an. Bear in mind that those who interpret the Qur’an are no infallible; they are human being, ans so is their endeavor to interpret the Scripture. Their interpretation is not fixed and unchanging; it was rather made to meet their socio-historical needs and changing circumstances. Therefore, I caution anyone, especially the uninitiated, to have a look at what contemporary scholars have to say about Islam. Scholars like Mohamed Shahrour, Abu Zeid, Arkoun, Abed Aljabri, and the like, whose works and criticism are far too much universal and speak to contemporary matters. Speaking of which, I don’t wish to downplay the role of scholars who came before, but read them too, if you have the chance and time to, but don’t mistake them for the Islamic faith as a whole.
    Peace,
    Med Amine
