Brrr! The Netherlands is going to freeze this week

Make sure you wrap up this week, the Netherlands is going to freeze…

We’re set for (essentially) a Dutch ice age for the next week, as temperatures reach as cold as -8. Us at DutchReview and the rest of the country are holding out for frozen lakes and canals, in hope of a traditional ice skating session. Even better news? The rain is sparse for a change and the sun will be making an appearance, which is why the Netherlands is going to freeze. Sadly, if you’re a snow lover like me, it seems like you’re going to be disappointed.

Today/Monday

We kick start the week with a cloudy and sunny day for most of us, with temperatures as low as -2 and as high as 2 (as if 2 is considered a ‘high’ temperature brrr). Thankfully, no rain, but wrap up warm as it’s going to get even colder than it is today.

Tomorrow

It is a similar story tomorrow, with no rain, but with cloud and sun. It’s steadily getting colder, with the Netherlands getting lows of -5 and temperatures that rarely exceed freezing.

Wednesday

We are set for a beautiful couple of days, as the Netherlands will be sunny for much of the day and for most of the country. There is 70% chance of just a blue sky and sun for the whole day on Wednesday, so we can cycle to work without the fear of being soaked through (hurrrrah).

Thursday

This is a similar picture as Wednesday, with much of the country having a sunny, yet cold day. Temperatures will struggle to reach above freezing.

Friday

Friday is not as nice as Thursday, but thankfully no sign of any rain. Again, we are set for a cold day, with temperatures reaching as high as 4 Degrees Celsius, with lows of -2.

Weekend

Hurrah, the sunny weather is predicted to stay! It’s still cold (so it should be, it is February)! So a perfect day for a winter walk or cycle.

So as you can see, the weather is pretty consistent this week. It seems like we are set for a bit of ice. Sun, minimal cloud, freezing as ever. Make sure you wrap up warm and hopefully we can enjoy the ice 😉
