🇳🇱 Want to learn Dutch? Fantastisch! Take the first step and find a Dutch language school

King’s Day 2018 is in full effect! Here’s what’s happening around the Netherlands.

Decided to stay home for King’s Day but are still curious as to what is really happening out there? Here is a quick update of the day so far.

You can’t miss out on this even if you’re at home: The Weather

The lovely Dutch weather can’t seem to just make up its mind today. So far we’ve had both rain and sun within the span of an hour. That definitely won’t stop true Dutchies from partying though! So if by any chance you decide to go out today bring sunglasses, an umbrella, and your party attitude. Because no amount of Dutch weather can stop a party animal from getting their freak on!

Go Shawty It’s Your Birthday: The Royal Family is in Groningen

In case you didn’t know, the king and his family were in Groningen today for their annual city visit. The guest of honor (a.k.a the b-day king) enjoyed a parade throughout the town, and made several stops where he took part in a football clinic by Ronald Koeman, and reveled in two performances by the Noord Nederlands Orkest and musician Arnold Veeman. And in case you were wondering how fabulous Queen Máxima looked (as always), here’s a little sneak peak.

Ugh, get it girl!

If you don’t like partying, at least get a good deal: Flea markets

If there is one good day to spend your money, it is today! And no, we don’t mean on alcohol (or maybe we do). But you should definitely do some flea market shopping. So grab your wallet and just head outside in any random direction, because there will surely be a flea market near you.

And in case you didn’t know: PARTY, PARTY, PARTY EVERYWHERE!

Are you absolutely sure you don’t want to take part in the biggest annual celebration in the Netherlands? I mean, how cool would it be to tell your friends back home that you went to the king’s birthday party. And while that might be an over exaggeration you will still have loads of fun (plus, your friends wouldn’t know any better). So just in case you are on the fence about going out and celebrating, here are a few photos to help you make up your mind.
