There were two boys (not in the photo) found locked up in an apartment in the region of Zaanstreek after a neighbour reported hearing them cry all day, reports NU.nl. Apparently, they exhibited “animal behaviour” and had developed their own language.
The house that the boys were found in was abnormally hot, and they had no access to food or anything to drink. According to the police officer in charge of the case, Tom Verweij, they looked ‘dazed’ and frightened.
According to his column on Facebook, they were in only their underpants. When he knocked on the door, no one answered, but there was a little boy who opened the curtain, with a knife in his hand. He did not mention when the boys were rescued, their identities, or the exact location of the apartment.
They were trapped in the apartment, and had no way of getting out as the door of the room they were in was blocked with a stool and belt. The children were in a foster home, and their foster mother said to the police that they exhibited animal behaviour. He wrote that they had been on their own for so long that they had developed their own language, and also suspects that they had not been outside for months.
