Jos Brech, suspect of killing 11 year old Nicky, has been arrested in Spain!

Jos Brech, the suspect in the case of Nicky Verstappen, has been arrested this afternoon in Spain. That is what the Limburg police report. He is now in a Spanish cell and will be extradited to the Netherlands. The police found him after chasing a tip from a witness. The witness had recognized him on the basis of the photographs that were distributed last Wednesday.

Peter R. de Vries reports on Twitter that Brech has been arrested at Barcelona.

Wednesday, the police announced that there was a breakthrough in the case and that there was a suspect, the 55-year-old Brech. He had been missing since February this year when and in April, his family gave him up as missing. He is a very experienced bushcrafter so it was feared that he could continually outrun the police.

The Dutch police do not yet know when Brech is being extradited, because the Spanish police are in charge at the moment. Tomorrow, between 10.00 and 12.00, the chief public prosecutor will come with more information.
