No NS trains between Rotterdam Centraal and Delft Campus next week

The bus has you covered 🚍

If you commute between Rotterdam and Delft Campus, you’ll want to find alternative transport next week, because your usual train is cancelled from August 25 to 28.

No trains will run between the two stations for four days while ProRail conducts maintenance work on the tracks.

In addition, there’ll be fewer Sprinters between Den Haag (The Hague) Centraal and Delft Campus, and between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht. Also expect fewer Intercity trains between Leiden Centraal and The Hague.

Here’s what to know about alternative routes, replacement buses, and the situation on the tracks.

Travellers can reroute via Gouda

If you’re setting off from Rotterdam or The Hague, NS notes that you can still take the long way around by rerouting via Gouda.

However, for those planning to take the metro, the rail provider warns that NS tickets aren’t valid on the E Line.

Not sure if you’ll need to pay extra for the detour? You can check the webpage on work between Rotterdam and The Hague for a clearer overview of possible refunds, extra charges, and discounts.

NS will organise replacement buses to bridge the gap

While your original train might be unavailable, you can still catch a bus on the routes between:

  • Rotterdam Centraal – Delft Campus (express bus),
  • Rotterdam Centraal – Schiedam Centraal – Delft Campus (local bus),
  • and Schiedam Centraal – Delft Campus (local bus).

Once you reach Delft Campus, you can carry on as usual, as no Intercity trains beyond this station will be affected.

Should you travel by NS bus, you won’t need to pay anything extra for your journey. Remember to check out of the train and check into the bus.

Further work from Roosendaal to Dordrecht

Helaas, if you commute between Roosendaal and Dordrecht, there’s some train chaos headed your way at the end of August.

According to NS, no trains will run this route between August 31 and September 11. However, you aren’t stranded — the rail provider will still run replacement buses to get you where you need to go.
