A Dutch woman from the quiet town of Blerick got the shock of her life this Tuesday, when a reticulated python slithered out from beneath her clothes.
While Dutch residents may have a penchant for snake-print clothes, one resident was far less than impressed to see a serpentine guest dart into her wardrobe.
One swift call to Dierenpolitie BT Venlo-Beesel later, and emergency service workers were on a “snake hunt”.
Got a leash for that snake?
The search had barely got underway when the snake’s owner, a neighbour, turned up and fished it out from the wardrobe herself.
Apparently, the flat next door looked far more interesting than its own enclosure, because the python had escaped from its terrarium and decided to do a spot of exploring.
Fortunately for all involved, the snake was a harmless reticulated python — and a young one, at that. However, given that reticulated pythons can grow up to a whopping 6 metres long, the owner is going to investigate how her slippery friend escaped and ensure there isn’t a repeat incident.
Fancy a look at the young escape artist? The Dierenpolitie managed to capture a shot of it, attached to the Facebook post below. 👇
