BREAKING: the Rotterdam-Den Haag train line is down due to technical difficulties

As of Thursday afternoon, there are almost no trains between The Hague and Rotterdam.

The NS experience might be an even bigger rollercoaster tonight, as there is a technical problem near Schiedam, the NOS reports.

Trains could not travel at normal speed because a cracked part was discovered in the switch.

From 8 PM onwards, no trains will run on the route as ProRail tries to repair the broken switch.

Here we go again, staff shortage

ProRail stated that the repair requires specific knowledge from external contractors.

On top of that, there were also shortages among maintenance staff, so it was not possible to complete the repair during the day.

There will also be no trains between Rotterdam and Delft Campus until 1 AM. NS provides buses and encourages passengers to check the journey planner.
