Simply not possible: Amsterdam will not ask everyone for corona pass, mayor confirms

As of September 25, patrons of bars and restaurants will be asked to show a corona pass before entering catering establishments. However, the city of Amsterdam will not be checking each and every single one.

Why? Because it is simply not possible.

Speaking to the city council yesterday, the mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema said that the municipality will only be asking for corona passes in cases of “excesses.”

What does this mean?

According to the NOS, patrons of these establishments will only be asked to show their corona pass in cases where, for example, a large number of people remain in a café after closing time.

This also means that catering establishments will not have to worry about facing a fine if they fail to ask every patron for a pass.

The decision was made due to a lack of police officers and BOAs (special investigating officers) in the city.

  1. Nothing like passing a law and then having renegade leaders flaunt it. Either follow the law or seek to repeal it. But, of course, since when have liberals ever followed the law?

  2. If you have concerns for your health and the health of your loved one do not go to these places. Spend your money in other ways by taking an outing to the country or making a nice dinner for your partner.

  3. This is ridiculous! If it’s possible in other countries why isn’t it possible here?
I recently travelled to a county where 81% of the population is fully vaccinated. Hotels, restaurants, etc. check the certificates and a lot of people still wear masks. Everyone contributes and has social responsibility and awareness.

Meanwhile, here people don’t want to get vaccinated, lift all restrictions, no certificate checking. This is a formula for disaster!

  4. There are also many individuals who have had one vaccination abroad and one here in the Netherlands – but showing proof of the non Dutch administered vaccine will not be accepted by the government on the Corona check- so that means that although we have been double jabbed we are not allowed to frequent our usual cafes/bars/museums/ cinemas/ in face keeping us trapped at home unless we take countless tests.

The government has not thought this through-
